About Dwight Woods
Dwight Woods is a well-known Jeet Kune Do practitioner, instructor, podcaster and author.
Born in Trinidad but raised in Barbados, Dwight is a dedicated student of the art & philosophy of Bruce Lee, especially connected to its teachings, its culture and independent spirit.
In 2018, he created the Internet’s only podcasts dedicated to the dissemination of JKD education and information: The I Love Jeet Kune Do Broadcast and The Jeet Kune Do Dialogues, both of which continue to amass a worldwide audience via livestreaming and recording globally.
Woods launched his full-time martial arts career in 1991. Throughout his 30+ year career, he has trained and/or studied with a diverse number of JKD notables from all three eras including Michael (Glover) Lee, Dan Inosanto (Dwight’s primary JKD teacher/influence), Daniel Lee, Ted Wong, Ted Lucaylucay, Tim Tackett, Chris Kent, Cass Magda, Paul Vunak, Burton Richardson, Erik Paulson and others.
Dwight has also conducted his own seminars and workshops in Barbados, Trinidad and Florida.
With a Full Instructor certificate from Dan Inosanto, (Bruce Lee’s premier disciple) Woods stays involved in Jeet Kune Do education by presenting topics for discussion in his weekly podcasts, on the Miami Jeet Kune Do YouTube channel and teaching master classes and private lessons.
He has released two JKD books and three free instructional video projects. To continue with his passion for teaching and to become more closely connected with interested students, he recently launched his own online Jeet Kune Do academy, JKDDrills.com.
